THE ROLE

Want to walk in our shoes? Atoms is looking for an Industrial Designer to join our amazing team in Brooklyn. You will iterate on our current design philosophy and have a direct impact on evolving our aesthetic and design narrative. The ideal candidate is a creative designer that will help build the future of Atoms. You are a collaborative leader, with a stellar design background, and obsessive about flawless execution and user experiences. Your contributions will have a significant impact on the future of Atoms.

YOU WILL DO

• Help create new product ideas that further the company's mission and support company growth and brand initiatives
• Drive the ideation process from design concept to prototyping to product development
• Foster our design mindset by using attention to every detail of a product’s design and user interaction elements, including CMF (color, material selection and finishes)
• Design innovative and simple solutions anchored to our core tenets of delight and sustainability
• Work with key stakeholders to develop the design requirements and execute the product testing plan to ensure requirements are met
• Continuously refine and improve products in partnership with the Senior Shoe Designer, manufacturing vendors, and other key stakeholders
• Translate consumer insights/market research into product design concepts

YOU HAVE

• 3-5 years of professional Industrial Design experience
• Knowledge of best practices for SLA/FDM 3D printing, foam and other sculpting-based modeling
• Proficient necessary to use tools such as SolidWorks, Keyshot, Fusion 360, Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite
• High proficiency at communicating concepts through sketching, prototyping and model making
• Ability to research and deduce user experience challenges and think of creative design solutions to solve them
• A collaborative and humble personality that can make other people's work even better
• Demonstrated creative problem-solving mindset in prior design projects/roles
• Strong hand-sketching or other concept development techniques
• Experience working with multiple disciplines and leadership or support role in the ideation or creation of concepts and research
• Proven demonstration of your intellectual curiosity and proactivity in past work
• Love for art and shoes (affinity for chai is a huge plus in this office!)
